{"id":394,"date":"2010-05-13T11:54:30","date_gmt":"2010-05-13T17:54:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/car-accident-rain.com\/blog\/?p=394"},"modified":"2010-05-13T11:54:30","modified_gmt":"2010-05-13T17:54:30","slug":"arizona-appellate-court-clears-jiffy-lube-of-liability-in-tire-inspection","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/car-accident-rain.com\/blog\/2010\/05\/arizona-appellate-court-clears-jiffy-lube-of-liability-in-tire-inspection.html","title":{"rendered":"Arizona Appellate Court Clears Jiffy Lube Of Liability In Tire Inspection"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p>A Jiffy Lube station is off the hook for not telling a customer that his\u00a0tire treads has been warn down dangerously low, the Arizona Court of Appeals ruled.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/lawyersusaonline.com\/blog\/2010\/05\/12\/jiffy-lube-not-liable-for-faulty-tires\/\">http:\/\/lawyersusaonline.com\/blog\/2010\/05\/12\/jiffy-lube-not-liable-for-faulty-tires\/<\/a><\/p>\r\n<p>In the case at hand the plaintiff\u00a0brought his parent&#8217;s vehicle to a Jiffy Lube to have its oil changed.\u00a0As part of the service, Jiffy Lube checked out the car&#8217;s tire pressure.<\/p>\r\n<p>But then a few weeks after the oil change the plaintiff\u00a0had an accident where he lost control of the car while driving on a wet road.\u00a0He was paralyzed when the car rolled over.<\/p>\r\n<p>His family had charged that Jiffy Lube had a responsibility to\u00a0inspect that car&#8217;s tires and report on any wear that could lead to an accident.<\/p>\r\n<p>The chain doesn&#8217;t replace tires or sell them, but\u00a0it will rotate them for an additional fee.
